The fatal police shooting of a 29-year old black man triggered an outrage that led to 3 days of rioting, looting and burning that spreaded throughout England.
On first glance, one would assume, the groups protesting were poor blacks raising hell about the unjust treatment by the Metropolitan Police.
But there's much more to this story, and pictures.
BACKSTORY
Apparently, the fatal shooting of a black man triggered an angry response from the disenfranchised youth in England.
Youth of every race and ethnic background.
According to the experts, there's a swelling undercurrent of anger and frustration amongst the people in general. Especially the underclass.
The experts point to the growing gap between the rich and poor, chronic unemployment and lack of social mobility.
Former London Mayor, Ken Livingstone believe there's "pent-up resentment over the weak economy, high unemployment and reduced funding to poor communities."
Mayor Livingstone told BBC, "young Britons are facing the bleakest future. This is the first generation since the Great Depression that have doubts about their future,".
Shockingly, a resident publicly criticize the government for providing more police to protect Prince William's wedding than controlling the riots.
Where's the logic in that?
WILL WE EVER SEE A SIMILAR RIOT IN THIS COUNTRY?
Americans are suffering from similar problems as the Brits, particularly England.
We have chronic unemployment, a shrinking middle class, and will eventually face cuts to many of our social programs.
In addition, it's taking much longer for college graduates to find a job after graduation. In fact, it could take years depending on the type of degree earned.
The major problem facing our country is financial. It's the tie that binds us all, no matter the race, religion or sexual orientation.
At the end of the day, most of us want a good paying job, nice home, and a safe community to live in.
But what happens when the "American Dream" is no longer available?
Is it possible America is prime for a massive riot similar to England's?
