Community Poll:  Did the State of Georgia Execute An Innocent Man?

At 11:08pm, the state of Georgia moved forward with the execution of convicted cop killer, Troy Davis.

As Davis drew his last breath, he continued to proclaim his innocence, and offered prayer to the prison staff burdened with the depraved task of taking his life by lethal injection.

Public outcry against the execution can be heard worldwide.

Pope Benedict XVI, former President Jimmy Carter (D), Archbishop Desmond Tutu, former FBI Chief, William S. Sessions, former Georgia Congressman, Bob Barr (R), and Amnesty International all spoke out against the execution.

Unfortunately, the 663,000 signatures and public outcry from prominent leaders across the globe failed to sway the pardon board or the U.S. Supreme Court.

On September 21, 2011, the state of Georgia executed Troy Davis for the murder of police officer Mark MacPhail.

Was justice served?
